As my second term as president closed on Friday, June 30 (that’s me dressed in black with VP Visual Branding Laura Leggett), I’d like to share what an honor and privilege it has been to lead such a committed and passionate board, working hard to make your AMA Columbus chapter the best it can be. And what a fabulous board year it’s been.

We’ve had incredible monthly Luncheons with insightful speakers (we’re starting them again in September), AMA Columbus Workshops led by experts sharing valuable takeaways, and Job Transition Strategies programs helping marketers in transition refresh skills and connect with other job seekers. Firsty Thursday Happy Hours brought us together at local bars to meet, drink and be merry. We also celebrated excellence in marketing with our annual Achievement in Marketing Awards.

Our upcoming annual Summer Networking Bash at Grandview Café on July 20, co-hosted with the Legal Marketing Association and the Columbus Arts Marketing Association, brings together a broad range of marketing professionals at a fun, social event. Registration is open, so I hope to see you there.

Thank you for being part of our AMA family – we’ve enjoyed meeting you.

Members: We recently sent you a survey. We’d love to hear from you, so please take a moment to fill it out and let us know how we can better serve you.

If you aren’t a member, I hope you’ll consider joining our marketing community. Membership in the American Marketing Association brings you many benefits and opportunities at a national level. Choosing Columbus as your local chapter gives you the added benefits of connecting with the best marketing minds in Columbus. Shelli Welch started her journey as AMA Columbus Board President on July 1. I can’t thank her enough for her support as President-Elect, and you can be sure we’ll have another fabulous year with her at the helm.

I remain on the board as Immediate Past President and look forward to seeing you all at the Summer Networking Bash in a few weeks!
