YMCA Exec Shares Skills, Expertise as AMA Board Member

Your career is about to benefit from a new asset on the AMA Columbus board: YMCA executive Kisha Swift-Plater, a communicator with plenty of heart and a source of valuable mentorship and marketing expertise.

Look for her at our events. It’ll be an impactful connection.

“I want to help build up our members,” Kisha said. “Our world has changed so dramatically in the last four or five years. There are a lot of professional development resources that people need, a lot of connections people need – it’s so good for you. I want to be driving those connections.”

Kisha will be joining forces with the author of this article as co-VP of Communication, making sure we get the word out about our valuable workshops and events that give you the skills to save time and money, and networking to accelerate your career.

She is a leader who loves mentoring marketing teams, as evidenced by her steady rise through the ranks from junior graphic designer at the YMCA of Central Ohio to become the organization’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications in April.

Kisha’s background and expertise are huge benefits to the board; she’s getting the YMCA lots of returns on Google Ads, which puts her in the significant minority of Google Ads users. She also pioneered a micro influencer ad program  for the brand, among other advances. The YMCA of Central Ohio under Kisha’s leadership is getting its brand narrative out to the public in ways it never has before.

“Now we’re starting to tell our story really, really well,” Kisha said. “It’s a progression, and It’s been exciting to be a part of.”

In fact, As the AMA Columbus programs out its 2024-25 season, we’ll likely be adding a workshop with Kisha and the YMCA’s ad vendor to teach you how to supercharge your Google ads campaigns. This an opportunity you can’t afford to miss.

Kisha said she’s excited to join in building the AMA Columbus to be the premiere professional organization in Columbus.

“I just remember the old proverb that’s so true: ‘If you want to go far, go together,’” she said.

Join us at the AMA and meet Kisha at our next event!
