Meet the ContentOps 2025 Launch Team

Adam Townsend, ContentOps Editor in Chief

Adam Townsend is an accomplished journalist and marketing leader. He is the founder of Townsend Creative Imaging, a digital marketing firm launched in Columbus in 2023. He also serves as the VP of Content on the AMA Columbus Board. He helped conceive the rebrand and programming for ContentOps with the AMA’s Executive Board members, and with input from our talented volunteer corps.

Jason Schmitz, ContentOps Managing/Newsletter Editor

Jason is the VP of Communications for the AMA Columbus. He programs and manages newsletters and distribution in consultation with AMA leadership based on what we think is most vitally useful to our members and the Central Ohio business community at-large. Jason is a campaign analyst for Victoria’s Secret here in Columbus. The AMA benefits from these skills, as Jason works closely with our Content VP to craft messaging and make sure our content, resources and events are promoted to our email subscribers.

Danielle Shortt, Director of Digital Audience Engagement for ContentOps

Danielle’s approach is centered on innovation, authenticity, and a deep understanding of her clients’ unique audiences. Danielle is here to make sure our ContentOps audiences get the market intelligence they need, right when they need it.

With 14 years of experience in marketing, Danielle specializes in creating impactful strategies that drive engagement, elevate brand presence, and deliver measurable results. Her expertise spans email marketing, social media strategy, loyalty programs, and text message marketing, with proficiency in platforms like Klaviyo, Shopify, and Google Analytics.

As the founder of SHORTTAKES®, she combines creativity and data-driven insights to support clients in achieving their goals through email marketing execution, influencer campaigns, strategic partnerships, or enhancing customer retention through loyalty and SMS programs.

Dinah Adams, ContentOps SEO Director

Dinah loves using data to understand the needs and behaviors of target audiences and build online experiences that exceed their expectations. That’s why she’s in charge of making sure ContentOps in general and our Columbus Marketing Directory, specifically, marry searchability with value to our business community.

Dinah is an SEO Manager with Pragmatic Institute. She analyzes search data, develops SEO and CRO strategies, and develops website content. 

Before joining Pragmatic, Dinah was Digital Marketing Manager with Charleys Philly Steaks, where she oversaw paid and organic social media campaigns and managed online ordering platforms.

When Dinah isn’t crunching numbers or writing content, she’s exploring Columbus Metroparks and browsing the stacks at the Columbus Metropolitan Library.

Debbie Wakefield, ContentOps Student Outreach and Education Director

Professional education and mentorship is a huge priority for AMA Columbus, and AMA nationally. Debbie has already made great strides in connecting us with the passionate and energetic OSU student chapter of the AMA. She will manage our content and engagement with students and professionals seeking continuing education.

Debbie is a Marketing Specialist at The Ohio State University’s Office of Student Life. She provides strategic marketing support for Buckeye Careers, Dining Services, Parent and Family Relations, Student Conduct and University Catering. She enjoys digital marketing, writing and content creation. 

As the Communications and Marketing Specialist at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine Debbie managed the college’s social media channels and email marketing since early 2020. Debbie understands how to create engaging digital content that achieves strategic goals, follows brand guidelines and engages with target audiences.

Clare Flanagan, AMA Events and Promotions Editor

Clare is ContentOps connection with our events committee, helping plan and execute event promotions digitally and in-person. Her freelance marketing career is taking off with diverse clients like Bellisari’s Gourmet Spreads and Sauces, Queen Bee Jackie Creative LLC, and Endeavor CrossFit & Defense. She’s still on the lookout for an in-house role, so you can find her on our exclusive LinkedIn candidate job board.

Clare completed her B.A. in marketing in just three years while playing for the Women’s Beach Volleyball team for St. Leo University. She coaches juniors beach volleyball for a local club and volunteers with the Ohio History Center.

Andy Milligan, Marketing by Design Podcast

Andy Milligan, founder of MMG Design, and the AMA have partnered to produce Andy’s Marketing by Design podcast. As an energetic and inquisitive host, Andy leads discussions with top marketing leaders and experts from throughout the Columbus business community. Marketing by Design, powered by the AMA, cuts to the heart of what fuels marketing success in Central Ohio.
