President-Elect Aims to Expand Knowledge and Connections
Community and ongoing education are at the heart of the American Marketing Association’s mission. And that’s why our president-elect, Jessica Burchard, has served on the AMA Columbus board since Feb. 2021.
In her new role, Jessica will collaborate with all board members to ensure we deliver the best combination of in-person and electronic communications with our over 125 members across Central Ohio.
“I’ve benefited from a variety of programs and events from AMA national and our sister chapters,” she said. “Bringing those concepts to Central Ohio and giving our members the best experience possible is my primary goal as president elect.”
Jessica attended both AMA’s Regional Retreat and the Leadership Summit this year to represent the chapter when serving as the VP of Membership. During those events, she connected with other AMA board members from Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Texas, Connecticut, New York, Washington, D.C., and Canada.
“AMA is so incredibly inclusive. I felt honored to meet so many passionate marketers from the Midwest and far beyond,” the Ohio University and West Virginia University graduate said.
Having spent more than three years leading the chapter’s membership initiatives, Jessica advises all AMA members to make use of all their benefits:
- Attend exclusive members-only monthly webinars
- Participate in member-only affinity groups
- Use the 100+ templates in AMA’s toolkits to save time and money
- Watch on-demand learning resources taught by experts
“You get so much value from being an AMA member. Every week, I find something that expands my marketing knowledge and helps me connect with other marketers.”
In each yearly AMA election, members choose both the president for the upcoming term and the president-elect for the following term. Jessica will serve an advisory role this year (2024-25) and serve her term as president in 2025-26.
